I salute them also. But if we are honest, sometimes blacks returned home only to face discrimination, even violence from the hands of fellow Americans. I have read that sometimes the allies actually treated American Blacks better than the US had been doing in those times. At least Truman acted swiftly *executive order* (as commander in chief) to try to bring about better treatment within the military.
