I sent Ronnie and Donnie a congratulatory email after reading this article about them on Sunday (there are actually a slew of articles about them the past couple of days) I had been following their story for years and know that Eng/Chang are heroes of theirs and that they so wanted to break their longevity record. I got a very nice reply from their brother who expressed to me their excitement about having an actual descendant of Eng/Chang get in touch with them. They wanted to know anything and everything about them and the family. I told them it was a very big family. I also told them that, if they could, they should attend the reunion one year. I am very much in support of these two brothers, and I think they give a lot of great insight into the kinds of struggles that our ancestors went through. They are good guys, in my opinion, and Id like to make a suggestion if I may: I think that it would be nice if, on behalf of the Bunker descendants, a congratulatory proclamation was read at this years reunion that notes the milestone these two individuals achieved. I am unable to attend the reunion this year, but would be more than willing to write the proclamation and pass it to someone who could present it there.
