I struggle from time to time with whether or not to share other kids stories. I mean, lets face facts...Facebook can be a forum that promotes online rubbernecking of sorts. I want to respect these kids and their families. But...this story struck me to the core. It reminded me so much of the choices we faced with Zach. Sometimes there is value in sharing, so now I am...Ive been thinking about this for a few days. This family is at a crossroads with no easy way out. Take no action, and Nicks fight is over. Choose to stand and fight, and deal with the consequences, both short and potentially long-term....then wonder if you made the right choice for the rest of your life. I think Nick may be choosing to push the boundaries, and to him, I say, be strong, fight on!. Progress and discoveries made when boundaries are pushed, but its definitely not right for every person, family or situation. ...And, I commend those docs who are thinking out-of-the-box. I am a big fan of creativity and options! I encourage you to read what this family is up against...if it touches your heart, think about supporting pediatric cancer research causes. Remember, cancer is the number one cause of death (in the U.S.) by disease in children....and its simply horrible. No surrender! j
