I stumbled across this in a Justice group. These are questions/answers asked on Wednesday by the jury in relation to Dr. Horne, M.E., testimony. CREDIT: WYLIE MANNING There was alot of bickering between Dr. Horn and Willmott, alot of snippy, snide remarks (from JW) like: Well, youre assuming this or that in regards to the stabbing, arent you? To which our Dr. Horn replied Well, Ive never stabbed anyone. Dr. Horn went on to testify that the 3 fatal wounds were: The stab to the heart, the cut throat and finally the gunshot to the head. The jurors asked Dr. Horn a few questions: Q1: Regardless of any subsequent conversations, is there anywhere in the (autopsy) report that discerns the types of injuries and the sequence. A1: No, he did not note the sequence. (As a side note, note that it is Not strange or unusual in any way that Dr. Horn did not detail the sequence of events. Its not protocol or necessary that an M.E. makes those kinds of notes.) Q2: Would the wound to the stomach have caused blood to come up to the mouth? (Im not sure I understand the reason or relevance for this question.) A2: Dr. Horn answered that the wound to the stomach was an incision across and that there was nothing connecting that incision to the mouth. So, that incision would not have caused blood in the mouth. Q3: Would the presence of water reduce the ability to detect stippling? (Stippling is gun powder residue that causes burning of the skin, if a person is shot at close range. Remember that JA testified that Travis was only a few inches away from the end of the gun, when she shot him.) A3: Dr. Horn replied that water might wash the stippling away but you would still see the stipple marks in the skin itself, if the shot was at close range, which means the shot was from a distance. Q4: What was the first wound, in your opinion? A4: Dr. Horn states he cannot tell which was the very first wound (bc there were 29, plus the gunshot and the cut to the throat) but he can say that he believes the order of the fatal wounds were as follows: Heart, then throat, then gunshot to the head, Last. Q5: Would the first wound have been fatal? A5: Dr. Horn again states theres no way to know what the very first wound would have been. The stab wound to the heart would have been fatal eventually.
