I support RSS chief Mohan Bhagwats demand that there should be a total ban on cow slaughter aired through Doordarshan and other channels. Along with the ban, there should be a condition that the owners of cows should ensure that they are fed properly till they die a natural death. Anybody found neglecting the animals or ill-treating them after they reach old age should be given the same punishment given to the slaughterers. Lets also have a national register of cows and their progeny and make it compulsory for the owners to register both birth and death of cows. All premature deaths should be certified by a vet. Failure to do so should invite harsh punishment. Lets show the world that we really care for our cows.
