I thought that I would share one of our motivations behind creating Promoting PAWSitivity. My husband and I live in a small town, of about 530 people, in Nebraska. We moved here back in June. We only had Gypsy, Paxton and Angel at the time. While we were expecting some judgment, we werent expecting it, to the degree we have experienced. Without anyone having ever met our dogs, somehow, it got around the ENTIRE town that are dogs were mean, within one week. When walking our dogs, most people here, will go out of their way to avoid us. I even had a construction worker thinking that Paxton was going to eat him. When we met the one police officer in this town, he immediately warned us that our neighbors had an in-home daycare next door, and that there was one a block away. Unfortunately, most of the town still thinks our dogs are mean, despite us walking our dogs in public and showing how well-behaved they are. The upside is, that there are a few people here, who now do not care what breed of dogs we have, they go out of their way to say hi to them when we are out and about. So, we have changed a few minds, including the mind of the one police officer, even if it is only a few.
