I took Chotzie for a walk this evening. He decided to wander a little farther into a field than we normally go and while I was waiting for him to finish his business, I realized that my foot was ON FIRE! I had inadvertently stepped right on top of a fire ant hill! Before I could brush them all off of my feet, I sustained between 30-40 fire ant bites. I am in agony! I took some Benadryl when I got home, but nothing has helped. That is the last time we are walking that far away from a sidewalk especially since fire ants seem to be hugely prevalent this year for some reason--they are EVERYWHERE right now.
