I want to explain why I have chosen to play an active part in the fight against e-tolls. Firstly the gantries dont affect me much (I dont get out enough). I am doing this because I firmly believe that the entire system was built on a foundation of corruption. I resent the fact that people have been bullied and manipulated throughout the implemention. I get really angry when government ride roughshod over the will of the citizens of the country. I get angry when I am taken for a fool. In most cases when government pisses me off, I am further upset by feelings of being powerless. In most cases where wrongs are perpetuated in various scenarios, war, poverty, abuse and so on I feel powerless, In the case of the fight against e-tolls I see an opportunity, not only to bring down a system which flys in the face of what I believe in but to take a stand which may bring about change. Through the united spirits of those who are standing up and saying no to e-tolls, I feel empowered.
