“I want to help people,” the former offensive lineman said speaking with the NewsObserver. Brown continued, “My agent tells me I’m crazy. Nobody walks away from the NFL. You don’t walk away from a multimillion dollar contract. Most players scrape and claw and hold on to try to squeeze out one more season. But I’ve got another dream.” The one-time St. Louis Ram made the choice to move back to his home state of North Carolina and develop a 1,030 acre farm in Louisburg with the intention of feeding the hungry. Last week his vision came to fruition. Brown’s First Fruit Farm gave away over 46,000 pounds of sweet potatoes. The farm had already produced 10,000 pounds of cucumbers which were also given away.livefreelivenatural/quits-football-to-open-farm/
