I want to take a moment to acknowledge how very lucky i am to be a part of such an amazing makeup family. Every day I interact with artists at all levels of this industry I love and continue to be inspired and excited about the work I love. Through The Makeup Show and The Powder Group I get to speak with other artists everyday. Today Dani Fonseca-Ondrek Bethany Beautymarque Townes Angelique Velez and countless others are working on internationally recongnized artists and events. They are humble, hardworking artists who put their heads down everyday to work diligently to be better. The discussions we have are not about making more money or getting more acknowledgement. When we gather in our rare spare time it is to talk about what we can do for this industry. What class we can put together, who we are mentoring, or what event we can make happen to share our love and passion. When I have lunch with Dani this week she will not be bragging about the famous faces she continues to paint or the truly iconic work she has created but we will discuss what she will be teaching in her workshop at THE ARTIST SUMMIT 2013! to ensure the artists in her class leave with a piece of her. If I called these women tomorrow and said I needed help, or another artist needed something they would be there. That is what they do. This is my makeup family. These three are not the only three ...there are many more of us....but tonight as everyone is talking about these celebrities I want to take a minute to pause and praise my friends and let them know that what they do for this industry is not unnoticed.
