I was able to make it back to San Marcos before the vet closed!! - TopicsExpress

I was able to make it back to San Marcos before the vet closed!! Puppy is still doing ok! Actually a little better! He has been able to keep food and solid meds down today! Super good. But he is not eating on his own so theyre still force feeding him. He is also not drinking water on his own. Hes still got the IV hooked up. So, until he is AT LEAST drinking water willingly he will not be released. The dr doesnt think hell be at that level tomorrow and since they arent open Sundays (what am I going to do!? I want to see him every day!!) the earliest he could be released is Monday. His face today seemed a little less tense than other days! (Its weird I know but I can just see it in him. Im crazy, whatever.) He also was responding to our voices a lot more than he has before. Nikki, a friend of hers, and I went to see him 😊 We also got to go in the run!! First time Ive been able to do that. All the other days I was talking to him through the gate. Hes pretty skinny. You can feel and see his ribs, hips, tail bone. Poor bug. Money - let me just say, I never ever thought we would make it this fast. Never. Seriously yall are amazing. Everyone who donated, everyone who shared his story, everyone who talked about him, everyone who cared about him, thank you!!! Yall have been able to help us achieve something we didnt think we could accomplish. When Nikki and I met on Monday and talked about what the next step would be we were so worried. Where would we go? Where was he going to stay? Who was going to take care of him until Saturday when I would take him to Bridget? Then he got diagnosed with Parvo and we really freaked. I had only ever heard of how much it cost. I had never seen it with my own eyes. To be honest I have never seen a malnourished dog until I saw puppy. How were we going to pay? Me and Nikki are college students! Where were we going to pull $400+ from!? We each have two dogs of our own to take care of. But yall did it. I am in shock. Thank you everyone!! I checked again and our bill is still $503.52 because they havent put in todays charges. Puppy will be there for at least 3 more days, at about $100 a day. Hell still need about two weeks worth of meds once he gets out so if anyone would like to continue to donate you are more than welcome. At this point we will not be pushing for donations, but if anything changes I will let everyone know. I want everyone to know that anything extra once the vet bill has been paid off will go directly to puppy. The rescue generously covers shots, neutering, food and things like that. Toys, treats, clothes (which hell need cause its still very cold and his skinny body cant handle it) and anything foster mom wants to get him usually comes out of foster moms pocket. But with the extra money it wont have to.
