I was asked to write recently what I am proud of. Right out of the gate, I was gonna write how proud I am of myself (of course). I want to share with you guys what I ended up with. Let me tell you a little story. About 5 years ago when I was first getting into electronic music I had a hair brained idea that I would become a DJ. I did not take it too seriously at first and just kinda thought making computer music would be a fun hobby. In a fairly rapid progression it became a passion and a whole new world of music opened up to me. I was in college at ECU when Jon Schnake booked me for my first show in downtown Greenville. It was a Noisy Dubs event he had started down there. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. To this day I thank him almost every time I see him for helping me get started. He said, he saw something in me. I dont know what he saw but I am glad it worked. However, I hold this very close to my heart when I am producing and playing live shows. My second gig EVER was the first Camp Neon hosted by Evan Monei in the middle of nowhere in a town I had never heard of with people that scared the shit out of me...I got a hotel room. I met my family that year. The family I know and love today. The family I still rely on to give me advice and teach me new things I can do do become a better DJ. I met you this way Drew who has also helped me in so many ways with regards to networking and just giving inspiration in all forms. Now, five years later, I have worked as a resident in one of the biggest resorts in the world. I have played shows with people I consider to be musical heroes, I have met the most wonderful humans on the planet and I can not wait for this ride to continue. I started out thinking, I am most proud of ME! Now that I have written this a read it, I am proud of US. I am proud of Noisy Dubs for being the success they are, I am proud of Evan and Camp Neon for what he has turned a tiny little back country festival into. I am proud of Billionaires for the positive and creative influence they have had on the community. I am proud to be the tiniest part of this. Proud of my family! -Jonesy
