I was driving to Houston on 9/11/01 when Shana, 3 months pregnant with Ayden, called to tell me about a plane hitting the first tower. It wasnt a huge surprise at first because if i remember correctly a small Cessna or something had recently hit another building in NYC. Still thinking it was only an accident at the time, and not realizing the full scope of the impact continued driving south. As we talked, she narrated play by play as the second impact was seen live and her tone changed from shock to terror as the towers fell. Then there was the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania! When i got to my jobsite everyone was gathered around a TV and we all literally were glued for hours in disbelief. I remember just wanting to turn around to get home to hold my wife...
