I was musing on some questions that were asked earlier, and also rereading a response that I made to such a questions (in a more general statement), and I realized that sometimes its not about whether you can prevent things from happening when it comes to loving someone; you dont ever really know...youre not ever really 100% sure, because thats human nature - on both ends of it. I think really what it is, is deciding who is worth the risk and who isnt. And, youre not always going to be right. Sometimes youre not going to think people are worth it and in the end they are, and of course, there are sometimes we put way too much trust in people. And often, there IS no rhyme or reason to it all...thats why I say (and this is my final answer): its not about whether you will be hurt again or not. Hurt is a mandatory variable in life. What its about is whether you have the opportunity to love. I finally get that Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. Shutting yourself off from future hurt because a past love has been misfortunate, is a triumph for evil. Its a triumph for apathy. Its a triumph for all that stands against anything that is worthwhile in this life, including perseverance, integrity, security and honor. I wouldnt be afraid. I wouldnt even be wary; this, what it is, is just that...it is what it is. It does not define love as a whole, and it does not define the person that you are. We are ever shifting & ever-changing & always growing. I believe that there are those that are definitely worth being a part of that.
