I was on a thread where talking about allowing kids to pray in school, mention god, etc......which is fine. But I would like to shine a light on something that the pro prayer in school thing could do. I am not talking about the slippery slope of having to allow Satanists to pray too....that is way too easy. This is what believers need to think about. If prayer is let into schools, (which by the way it is allowed, as long as it isnt sanctioned) but I am talking sanctioned.....and the allowing of kids to talk about god (which I am for, you will see why) this opens the door to religious discussions all around, and they cannot be favored by one religion over another, I think even the staunchest of xians will admit we cant have that. But what will happen is the largest growing religious group will get to speak too....and your children will hear it all....the largest growing group? the nones.....the ones that when asked check off the box NONE when asked what religion they are, some atheists, agnostics, but as a rule non religious.......they will get to speak too....and your kids will now be exposed to other points of view, that you CANT CONTROL.....see why keeping your religion to yourself is a good thing, not just for those of us who dont buy it, but also for you, and your fragile hold on your childs faith. Do you want some of the smart kids in the class explaining to your daughter why they DONT believe in god? Do you want them explaining how it is perfectly okay not to believe in jesus/yahweh/ganesh? ....whomever you picked..... They will see that ....wow, Jane doesnt believe in god, and she is nice, popular and pretty, and she volunteers with her family at the food bank. she makes good grades and has lots of friends, and everyone seems to like her.......wow....and she doesnt doesnt believe in god or have to go to church, wait, and she knows more about the bible and other religions than I do Is that something you really want your young impressionable child to be exposed to ALL DAY? With you no where in sight? Where you cant continue your indoctrination? You may want to re-think this Put god back in the schools thing and just keep it to yourself and your family.....because trust me when I say this....the youth are leaving the flock in record numbers.....do you want your kid leaving yours?
