I was standing squashed somewhere in the middle of the packed - TopicsExpress

I was standing squashed somewhere in the middle of the packed morning bus awhile ago when an old lady boarded.. and while most of the people seated in front instantly went into im-busy-with-my-device /sleeping-and-oblivious mode, a foreign looking person, who had bags of groceries with him, stood up to offer his seat with a smile. And then later when the seat beside the old lady became available, she guarded that seat and waved that foreign man over to sit with her. She even tried having a conversation (in dialect) with him (who might have been indian or bangladeshi). Despite the comical language barrier, the warm smiles on the old lady and the mans faces never faded even once.. it was such a touching sight. We need more people like that.. people who still display chivalry, people who do not discriminate against a minority race, and people who (unknowingly) create such beautiful moments for the rest of the world to see what weve become so blinded to.
