I was undergoing watch keeping training during early 1970 on board Trishul . The ship was in Colombo for some mission In helping Ceylon Navy/ Govt. ( now Shri Lanka ). We were three Indian Navy trainee marine engineers along with one Nigerian navy trainee officer/ SLt( With surname Sunday) n one Iraqi trainee officer ( Name Lieut Ali ) staying in the same cabin / Shed on board. Sub Lt. Ali came on board late night with a small torch/ battery he had bought fm the market. As he entered the shed/ Cabin it was pitch dark n every one was asleep when he started calling Sunday , Sunday...... Where r u man?? Actually he could not pronounce Sunday, but was saying sundae . Sunday responded by saying I am here man. Ali responded by saying come on man, try to laugh . Sunday asked why should I laugh. Ali said so that I can see your teeth to find out as to where u are?? (Sunday was a black officer fm Nigerian Navy.) After this Sunday got up and started hitting Ali all over. They started fighting so badly. We had to call for help fm the gangway staff to separate them fm fighting. It took us also sometime to understand as to why Sunday felt so offended by what Ali asked him to do that night!!!
