I would like to give some support to the USFWS and CPaW. An issue - TopicsExpress

I would like to give some support to the USFWS and CPaW. An issue was being debated earlier about wildlife officers knocking on the door of a photographer after he posted a photo on this forum. USFWS and CP&W have a lot of work, much more work than you can possibly imagine. It is their jobs to protect and enhance wildlife on behalf of all of us. Their work is not easy, can be life threatening and can be heart wrenching at times. Without them doing their jobs we would not have moose or lynx in the state, fishing would tank and when bambi gets hit by a car, bambi would just have to suffer until he finally bled out. These officers work hard on behalf of all of us and the wildlife we enjoy. If they felt it was important to contact said photographer, than it was important. They dont just do this willy nilly. Perhaps their is more to the story than what was shared with us. Perhaps, yes they made an example of him. After all, many dozens of you posted on that thread before it was deleted and many of you said you didnt know feeding wildlife was against the law. Now you know. What is more to the point why he may have been singled out is that he posted he knew it was against the law to feed animals but he was doing it anyway because the deer was cute. And the bigger issue is not feeding the animal per-say, but that he was tempting the animal to approach him. That is a really big deal. When you tempt and succeed in causing wild animals to approach humans you are creating a danger for other humans in the future. But since that thread was deleted as I was writing, perhaps that doesnt need to be hashed over again. Most of all, I hope you all realize that without those wildlife officers out there, their would be less healthy wildlife to photograph and their would be no reason for this group to exist. I am grateful they are out their looking after the wildlife in our state. Our stunning array of animals that we all have in our own back yards make the front range a great place to live.
