IESM: NOW WHAT? ************************ From: Colonelrajan Srinivas Date: 16 August 2013 23:11 Subject: [ExecutiveGpMilitaryVeteransIndia] Fwd: IESM at the Cross Roads To: ExecutiveGpMilitaryVeteransIndia IESM: NOW WHAT? Respected Sirs, Jai Hind. Preamble Though I am no longer a Member of IESM, having voluntarily relinquished my Membership in Dec 2010; yet, considering the fact that I am one of the founder Members of IESM and had the privilege of nurturing IESM through its formative years, by way of org ESM rallies in a number of cities & towns in the South and was instrumental in raising lakhs of Rupees as Membership fee & Donation, I cannot see IESM being hijacked and passing into wrong hands, ie that of Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan, who today is out to destroy IESM with the sole aim of ‘hadap karo’ the huge funds with IESM; funds that are hard earned money donated by ESM all over the world. The Question is should we allow that to happen? Definitely not. Genesis of the Problem I had warned Maj Gen Satbir Singh and other Members of the august Governing Body of IESM of the pitfalls of treating IESM as their personal Jagir. I had told them that Delhi is NOT India; and India is NOT Delhi. But they would not listen. I told them that Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan having been Chairman for two years, a change was required in org interest; and that in the AGM in Nov 2010 we must elect a new Chairman. I had said that for the sake of continuity in policies & programme, let us elect Maj Gen Satbir Singh, the then (and even now!!) Vice Chairman as the Chairman; but no one listened. Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan got elected by getting his own men from his vill. Jhajjar; and the rest, Gen Satbir & Co. got re-elected unopposed! And this charade was repeated again & again in the AGM held in 2011 and in 2012. I said, IESM being a pan India org, it is only correct that the post of Chairman must be held turn by turn, by an ESM from the North, then South, then West, then East; and so on, the various States in the Country having been grouped into eight zones. Again my entreaties fell on deaf ears. Let me tell you, even elder Statesmen like Brig Kamboj and Maj Gen Renjen were party to torpedoing my suggestions; resulting in my quitting IESM, more out of sorrow than in disgust. And now they are paying the price. I am not gloating at the misfortune that has befallen on IESM; but rather sad at the turn of events. What has happened resulting in the chaos we now witness in IESM? It is simple: the thieves have fallen out. I am sorry, I might be sounding rude & crude; but that is the fact. When I say thieves, I do not mean monetary or financial thievery; but in treating IESM as an Org as their personal Jagir; with mistaken belief that they, ie. Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan, Maj Gen Satbir Singh and other Members of the august Governing Body of IESM are the only ones chosen by the Lord himself, to lead the Movement for all times to come, in perpetuity. One must laud them for their temerity and arrogance! And now what? ESM like you & me, all over the Country are stake holders in IESM. We cannot afford to be mute spectators as to what is happening. We have to tell the present dispensation, ie. the ruling coterie comprising Maj Gen Satbir Singh, the Vice Chairman and Gp Capt VK Gandhi, the Gen Secretary to convene an AGM at the earliest, to elect a new Chairman and a fresh set of Office bearers and Members of the Governing Body. The existing dispensation must step down en masse. The MoA of the IESM also needs to be amended to cater for Zonal Convenors to be part the august Governing Body. Changes to the MoA of IESM must be discussed threadbare, in advance, before the AGM. During the AGM, Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan must to be castigated for his unlawful action in convening an Emergency General Body Meeting which is not catered for in the MoA of IESM. And hence, all decisions taken by Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan & his coterie during the so called Emergency General Body Meeting on 28 July 2010 must be declared ultra vires and illegal. The AGM must also be called upon to ratify the expulsion of Lt Gen (Emeritus) Raj Kadyan who has been working against the collective decision of a majority of the Members of the Governing Body; and for his unlawful convening of an Emergency General Body Meeting in contravention of rules of procedure as outlined in the MoA of IESM. Election of a new Chairman and fresh set of Office Bearers If you ask me, I would strongly recommend that we, the vast majority of Ex-Servicemen, request Lt Gen SK Bahri to please bail out IESM by most graciously accepting to be its Chairman for a year; and he be empowered to choose his own team of Office Bearers. I recommend that during the AGM, Gen SK Bahri be formally elected as Chairman of IESM; and the AGM be called upon to ratify his chosen team of Office Bearers. The above are only a few thoughts of mine put across for consideration & deliberation amongst our Group: Executive Group Military Veterans India. And may I request each and every Member of this Group to please respond and give out their views/ suggestions. As mentioned earlier by me, we cannot afford to be mute spectators. Regards, Col Rajan Bangalore, 9449043770 Dated: 16 Aug 2013.
