IHRC CHIEF TOOK ACTION ON THE REQUEST OF MOHAMMED FAWAZ OF LEBANON FOR THE ILLEGAL ARREST OF HIS BROTHER IN NIGERIA. IHRC Chief Ambassador-Shahid Amin Khan today issued notice to the Republic of Nigeria under the ratification of the Rome Statute on 27 September 2001 for ICC as asked the Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, Secretary to the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to release the 2 Lebanon National businessmen Namely "Mustapha Fawaz and Abdalla Tahini, which was arrested by the Nigerian Security Agents for more than 35 Days in violation of human rights laws. IHRC Chief today send the official request to the ICC Prosecutor Ms. Fatou Bensouda to take action on the request against the Government of Nigeria for illegal action done by the Security Agents to keep the innocent people in detention. The case was reported by the Excellency Ambassador Ali Khalil to the worthy Chairman during his visit. IHRC Chief today received the telephonic call of Special Adviser to the President on International Relations: Pius Olakunle Osunyikanmi from the office of the President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan of Nigeria and he assured the IHRC Chief that President assuring the IHRC that they will look the case of both people and will get back to the IHRC Chief as quick as possible and if any violation of human rights were found in this matter Nigira Government will bring the responsible in front of law and will be punished according the law. He also invited the IHRC Chief to visit the Nigeria and President office will feel honour to brief the Worthy IHRC Chief on this reported matter.
