IMPORTANT IMAGING FINDINGS Thyroid acropachy occurs in 1% of Graves disease as periosteal reaction affecting the hands and feet but is almost always associated with thyroid ( or Graves) ophthalmopathy . Which affects extraocular muscles and is bilateral & symmetric. The tendons of muscles are typically spared. The swelling is confined to the muscle belly. This gives the affected muscle a coca-cola bottle appearance(sign).
