IMPORTANT MESSAGE Over the past 16 years, I have actively engaged myself in top-level leadership in diverse organizations. For the past 4 years, I’ve equally been actively engaged in training, mentoring and coaching leaders across the ten regions of Ghana. While the stress of crisscrossing the country has been enormous, the fulfillment of shaping leaders and thereby taking a shot at influencing the future of the world has been more than the stress. Together with my team from the New Generational Leaders Network, we have trained over 14,000 leaders since October, 2010. For those who are a bit close to me, you know that I am very passionate about adding value to the lives of others and making an impact in society no matter how small. To me, the best way to be useful and successful in this world is when others are more useful and successful because of you. Indeed, Christ, Mohammed and other religious leaders have all lived this selfless principle. It is our calling to serve one another. I love teaching, mentoring and coaching. It is in my DNA and it is what makes me come alive. When I am teaching leadership or anything on personal development, I always feel it is my call. I feel genuine and fulfilled. So earlier this year, I took a bold decision to go full-time in teaching, coaching and mentoring leaders in how to develop themselves in character and competence. Along the way, I realized one BIG truth: you cannot develop a person’s leadership ability without developing the person’s psychology first. Success in every aspect of life is dependent on your belief system and how it is wired for or against the very success you seek. Your belief in your self-worth, your potential and what you can do, are key to leadership success. To believe in others, you need to believe in yourself first. And in leadership, if you don’t believe in your people, forget about being a leader. You are a ‘walker’. This realization has changed my approach to training, coaching and mentoring leaders. If leadership is the cause of every effect, then there is a further cause and effect interaction always taking place inside the leader. We only see the effect of this internal interaction on the outside and say it is the cause of all effects in an organization. What does this mean? It really indicates that, if you want to help a person become a better leader in the family, business, religion, etc; you need to work deep into the internal cause and effect interactions before bringing it to the outer level. If this is not done, all your efforts will be in vain. Ive struggled with this issue for some time until the awareness came. During these years of adding value to people, one of the things that frustrated me the most was my challenge of not being able to reach as many people as possible. I do receive a lot of calls, emails and messages from leaders, both young and old, to coach and mentor them. Others who live far away from where I am are always asking when I will bring one of my seminars or conferences to their location so they can also benefit. It’s been frustrating to know and feel I am not reaching enough people even though I can. So, I made a decision to use technology to solve this problem and bring to the homes and doorsteps of every conscious and serious leader, the benefits of world-class coaching and mentoring in being a model leader. I decided to go into online group coaching. I spoke to some few people about this and I was shocked at the response. This is what people are looking for. Sitting in their homes and adding great value to themselves just be sitting in front of their computers or right on their smartphones. As a member of similar online coaching and mentoring groups, I know this will help so many people live their dreams and help me live mine as well. I therefore developed a unique model that guarantees the process approach to leadership and personal development rather than the event approach.
