INDIA HIMACHAL PARDESH POLICE ARRESTED ONE SOUTH KOREA WHO WAS STAYING SINCE 2007 ILLEGALLY AND ALSO FOUND RS.2 LAKHS FROM HIS POSSESSION AND FORGED THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF PASSPORT AND VISA AND REMANDED TO POLICE FOR 5 DAYS Police on Sunday evening arrested a South Korean national staying illegally at Bangotu village near Mcelodganj. The police said the accused identified as Juan Hyuong Park was staying here for the last seven years without valid passport. “He was arrested from a rented room at Bangotu village,” informed additional superintendent of police (ASP) Shiv Kumar, who is also the spokesperson of district police. The accused came to Dharamsala in 2007 and his passport and visa expired the same year. He also forged the documents dates of validity mentioned in the passport and visa were tampered with. The police have also recovered `2 lakh from his possession. Meanwhile, the accused was produced before the court on Monday, from where he was sent to five-day police custody. The Dharamsala police, in a drive against foreigners staying illegally in and around Dharamsala, have arrested half a dozen foreign national in the last two months. The police now have started online registration for the foreign national arriving on a visit to the district and a special workshop is being held on November 4 to train the hotel owners on the procedure. After the system is adopted, the foreign national could register themselves online by submitting C and S forms and will have not to visit the District Foreigners Registration Office.
