IS INNOVATIVE AGRO (LR Group) GOING TO MOVE INTO OUR COFFEE - TopicsExpress

IS INNOVATIVE AGRO (LR Group) GOING TO MOVE INTO OUR COFFEE INDUSTRY NEXT??? The political timing & economic conditions are very ripe for LR Group to enter the coffee industry in PNG. With the new CIC corporate plans coming into play & the possible reduced funding to the sector, it just could be the next step for LR Group. Coffee is truly liquid gold being the Supply Chain Manager at Donut King Australia, the downstream sales of coffee in Australia alone is mind blowing. World Wide coffee beverage retail sales are over AUD70billion PA! The largest agricultural company in the corrupt African nation of Angola is in fact LR Group (under its local subsidiary company Vale Fertil Lda). Reading the below article from PNG Blogs (and several other reports on the method LR group employs with Government officials to gain control over African land & Agriculture) I am convinced there are more devious methods in the pipeline from LR Group to be expected in our Agriculture section...If PO is still in power we can expect the WORST is yet to come! (FYI LR Group of Israel aka Innovative Agro own the 9 mile Hydroponics farm outside of POM. LR Group also sold the 2 overpriced generators to PNG Power recently where PO ordered PPL to purchase the generators without following procedure. Allegedly the son of Jacob Weiss (POs Israel economic adviser) is a shareholder in LR Group). _____________________________________________________________ Summary of PNG Blogs article (30/06/14 written by anon ex PNG cop): LR GROUP, AFRICAN LAND GRABS, AND CONTEMPT FOR LOCAL PEOPLE One of LR Group’s secrets is now out in the open, the company’s involvement in land grabs. As we know, our country was extremely fortunate to escape colonial land stealing. We only lost 3% of our customary land before independence. Yet in the past 7 years, we’ve lost more than another 10% through the sneaky land grab technique called “land leases”. LR Group likes African land. In 2012 it grabbed a 2,000 hectare Rivers Farm Village venture in collusion with a Nigerian state government. It also grabbed the Etche Agro Industrial Farm, in which LR Group coerced the local state government to put up 60% of the money. Another recent LR Group prize was the contract to revive the agro-industrial area of Nsele (DAIPN) in the Congo. Examining LR Group’s African land & agricultural deals, they seem to like the tired old strategy of taking land rights away from former landowners, then offering them low paying jobs in return, to slave away on their own land. If the landowners turn up their noses in anger, the company brings in labour from other parts of the country to take the jobs. The attitude of some of the Israelis appears to be outright contempt and gross racism. ” (haaretz/high-times-in-angola-1.267252) LR Group likes operating in the world’s most corrupt countries. They operate in Nigeria, with a TI corruption index rating of 25 (just like PNG), but majority activities are in Angola, which has a corruption rating of 23. The Congo where LR Group also operates is rated a lowly 22. All these countries are oil/gas/resource rich so there’s lots of money around just waiting to be stolen. Just like in PNG! CONCLUSIONS The real K50 million question, of course, is finding out the real source of what motivated Peter O’Neill to bring this company into PNG. Let that question join the long line of other questions of dubious Peter O’Neill deals that must be investigated, if we ever get back our Sam Koim corruption fighting task force. Lastly, I have a personal message for LR Group: PNG is the Land of the Unexpected and you may find out soon enough that we aren’t like Angola or Nigeria. You might be able to bribe or pay kickbacks to our politicians but don’t be confident that your secrets will stay secrets in PNG. As one of your former employers commented, your company seems to have a lot of secrets. Maybe they’ll start spilling out in PNG. pngblogs/2014/06/png-israeli-business-connections.html
