The UPND tried to obtain an injunction against the release of the final results (Although the law only to contest the issue through an election petition) 2. UPND filed an injunction but it was not heard or granted. 3. The inordinate delay was also caused by the Commission that wanted to ensure that there was no justifiable legal incumberances that would prevent the release of results. 4. The injunction also couldnt be heard because it required the full Supreme Court Bench 5. The Commission is investigating allegations of malpractice by some of its staff that were alleged attempting to tamper with results and processes in connection with outsiders connected to an opposition party.
