ITS BETTER NOT TO HAVE A POCKET THAN TO HAVE A LEAKING POCKET - African proverb I attended todays flag off of the PDP campaigns for the 2015 general elections. We missed the road to the venue of the flag off, in consequence of which we drove almost round the entire Ikwo Local Government Area, LGA, before locating the venue of the unprecedented and awesome event. Driving round Ikwo LGA enabled me to discover that all their roads are in total state of disrepair, and are amongst the very worst in the state. I found the state of Ikwo roads rather embarrassing not because all the LGAs in Ebonyi State necessarily have good roads (those of Ebonyi LGA, outside part of the LGA in the urban, and Ezza North LGA could make people indigenous to the LGAs to stop visiting their villages) but rather because the state governor, who has ruled the state for seven years and eight months, is from Ikwo. Ditto for his son, Elechi Elechi, who wants to become a senator on the platform of the Labour Party. Like an African proverb says, its better not to have a pocket than to have a leaking pocket. Ikwo LGA would probably have fared better if their son were not a governor. A governor, who is not indigenous to Ikwo LGA, would probably have remembered them more than Elechi. As a matter of fact, governor Elechi has proved to be a leaking pocket to Ikwo LGA people. In view of the above, what face would Elechi Elechi, the governors son, have to approach his Ikwo brethren for their votes to go to the senate. Some politicians surely and unrepentantly do not have shame. Their consciences have been seared with hot irons. May be Elechi Elechi is hoping to buy the votes of his Ikwo brothers and sisters with the money he made from his father. Whatever be the case, Ikwo people will do well to reject governor Elechi, his son, Elechi Elechi, his wife, Josephine, the Labour Party governor Elechi is floating and everybody associated with the Elechis. They are counterfeits, alias leaking pockets. Those who, however, believe that the Elechis have done well for Ikwo, in terms of their roads, may God make their lives to be like the roads in Ikwo LGA. Such supporters of the Elechis should simply comment Amen here. #ROUN
