Ian and I sat down tonight to work on his new playset, an engineering thing with lots of bits and bobs that he will build into a truck. We didnt have time tonight to sit down and do the whole thing, but he was keen to get into it, so I gave him the suggestion that we sit with the list of parts and count everything out to make sure we had everything. If it had been me at his age, I dont think I ever would have been able to sit still and do a job like that. Ian, however...read the sheet himself, and counted out and sorted everything. He was focused, methodical, efficient and utterly competent--definitely a little engineer in the making! Seeing him attack a task like that and give it importance, it was pretty clear to me that hell be living up to his namesake. In fact his expression was almost identical to Big Ians. :p
