If anybody is interested, in say, nominating me, that would be great. .…………………… Safe City Awards 2014 Nominations for the Safe City Awards 2014 are now open and the City would like to encourage individuals and organisations to apply. The Safe City Awards were introduced in 1999 to recognise individuals, organisations or groups in our community actively involved in crime prevention, community safety and environmental programs. If you or someone you know is involved in a project that makes our community a safer and better place to live, then nominate them now for this year’s Safe City Awards. As these awards take place annually, all entries must be current to this year (December 2013 – October 2014). Category details are as follows: Community Kids Award - for a primary school or class within the City of Gosnells, which develops or takes part in projects contributing to the safety and security of their school, community or environment. 1st Prize - $1,000 and a plaque 2nd Prize - $800 and a certificate 3rd Prize - $700 and a certificate Constable Peter Ball Memorial Youth Award - honours the memory of Constable Peter Ball who lived and worked in Gosnells. This award invites nominations from a young person or group of young people aged 13 to 25 living in the City of Gosnells who are involved in youth activities supporting community safety in the City. Prize is $1,000 and a plaque. Community Initiative Award - invites nominations from individuals, organisations or groups within the City of Gosnells community who are actively involved in new and existing crime prevention or community safety programs in the City. Prize is $1,000 and a plaque. Entries for the awards close at 5pm on Friday 31 October 2014.
