If my number 1 mistake that women make regarding fat loss is not chasing hypertrophy then my second tip has to in relation to emotions, no doubt about it. Newsflash: Women are, well, different. Yep women are from venus and men from mars. If a male overindulges hell say oh well, Im looking for gainz anyways, so it wont kill me and move on. But when a female overindulges, her identity and self-worth go into the toilet. And then she begins the punishment routine, and she will go at it pretty damned hard. Then her delusional instincts will tell her to compensate for those dietary mistakes with more dietary restriction or excess cardio, or BOTH, leading to overindulgence again. Females often find themselves in a constant ebb and flow of overeating and hyper-restriction. If they just moved on in the first place and stopped the self-judgment theyd be able to find stability. Women attach too much meaning to food. They need to lose the emotional attachment.During times when theyre eating less, theyre happier with themselves and more confident. When theyre eating more they generally dont feel good about themselves. And theres usually a reason why theyre overeating: Food is their go-to tool for taking the edge off stress, anxiety, depression, happiness, boredom or any other emotion. It doesnt even have to be a negative emotion.... What do you need to do if this is you? If you stopped attaching your self-worth to your nutrition habits and dealt with emotions in productive ways other than comfort food, you would be more inclined to eat appropriately. A long walk will clear the head better than a packet of mint slices. Reading a great book is more stress relieving than a pint of ice cream. And going back to Mondays tip overindulgence wouldnt be such a big deal if you sought hypertrophy instead of fat loss. Hypertrophy is about growth, not restriction, and that change in thinking frees women from the constant cycle of trying to eat like a sparrow and then constantly falling off the wagon.
