If someone is racist, it is not ok to simply say.. oh it’s so-and-so.. they’re just like that. If someone picks on a disabled person, it is not okay to say it’s just so-and-so… they’re just like that. If someone picks on someone who suffers from a chronic illness, because they suffer from a chronic illness, it is not ok to simply say.. oh it’s so-and-so.. they’re just like that. Bullying is bullying. I for one will not sit idly by and let ignorant and nasty people carry on bullying in their normal ways, just because it titillates them to cause others distress in the name of “trying” to be funny. I’m offended. In fact I’m appalled. I take great care to not make jokes about anything that any one person may or may not be sensitive about… So I urge you… If you hear someone being unfair, under the disguise of “humour”… be sure to haul their ass on it. I sure as hell will be doing so.
