If you are an expat living outside the UK but still have a pension in the UK you may wish to consider a QROPS (Qualifying Recognized Overseas Pension Scheme) transfer, they have been available to all non UK residents since April 2006. Answer the following questions 1.Do you want your Beneficiary (wife/husband) to receive your whole pension pot on your death? 2.Would you like a tax free income in retirement? 3.Do you want to be free from Inheritance tax on your pension? 4.Do you want to start drawing benefits from age 50 not 55+? If you have answered yes to the above questions you should be considering a QROPS pension transfer. This is available to all types of pensions including Military. Go to qrops4all and complete the assessment form.
