If you have history with Gitche Gumee Bible Camp then you recognize the name Eldon Jones. Eldon was the father of Mel Jones (the previous director of Gitche) who spent a large portion of his life cruising around campus on his Yamaha 4-wheeler faithfully serving in the maintenance department. Mel let us know that Eldon peacefully slipped into the arms of Jesus today surrounded by loved ones. We are so grateful for the life that Eldon lived and the great example of service he was to all who entered the gates of Gitche Gumee. Below you will find Eldons full obituary. Details regarding service times and location will be provided at a later date. Eldon Jones Obituary: Eldon Jones (101) died at the home of his son Melvin Jones in Eagle River January 22, 2015.
