If you owe someone a hundred dollars, they own you. If you owe someone a million, you own them. The misguided ideas that the national debt can a) ever be paid off or b) will ever stop growing continue to mystify me. The fact that alleged fiscal conservatives continue to have no idea how the national debt works continue to amuse me. We should all be prepared for another round of debt-limit-Russian-roulette come February. Thats the only reason the limit exists. So the insane sociopaths that Republican voters put into office can use it to hold the government hostage while they try to kill poor people, women and the gays.
