Im bringing Ekundayo home tomorrow, because our community is amazing. As many of you are aware, Ive been involved for several months in the case of a Nigerian refugee who has spent the past 9 months in Eloy Detention Center. While he was initially denied bond, the judge ultimately set bond at $5,000. And thanks to the generosity of the Phoenix Activist Commuity, Ill be handing DHS a money order tomorrow, and poor Ekundayo will finally have his first taste of freedom in the US. Im not in control of the PayPal account for Rainbow Defence Fund, so I dont know who all donated. But Ekundayo (not his real name) has said that he wants to thank each and every one of you in person if he can, so dont hesitate to invite yourself over for dinner some time. I especially want to thank Trent Tripp, Chris Fleischman, Kat Sinclair, Raúl Al-qaraz Ochoa, Bob & Amy M. McMullen, Leigh Bowie, Dennis Gilman, the amazing staff of The Florence Project, and everyone whos working hard to stand up for our brothers and sisters who are still detained or who are living under threat of deportation. I love you all.
