Im curious as to the reasoning behind the assumption that because Im in favor of raising a fast-food workers wage to $15/hour (you know...a wage that would allow her to feed her family, own a car, and maybe be able to buy some clothes and go out to dinner once in awhile), that means I DONT want a member of the military to be paid a decent wage as well. Isnt it remotely possible that I think EVERYONE, no matter if theyre garbage men, construction workers, convenience store clerks, toll takers, or the McDs servers, deserves to be able to work ONE job and not be on welfare? That an across-the-board wage increase might be my aim? That there are jobs that YOU might consider yourself too good for, but if the workers who currently do them were to go away, youd be in a world of hurt?
