Im going to ask you all for a simple favor, thatll probably you more than it will me. But I need you all to hear me out for a split second. Ive been working on a graphic novel for quite some time. Years ago, I had completed it (while it was in its early stages) and was super close to publishing it when I was almost finished with high school, but my laptop blue screened and I hadnt backed up the work. So then while being discouraged by that, I was constantly put down by others, especially from my parents, whove told me that theres no jobs in the art industry and that Ill never be successful in what Im doing so that I better go to college and become a nurse. For a few years I tried, I tried as much as I could and it meant nothing. I put my dreams on the back burner because I doubted myself, had no one to support me and lacked the ability to make the right choices. So until this day, Im still sitting on the contract and paperwork that wouldve enabled my book to be sold at a local Borders or Barnes and Nobles, its been almost 5 years, and after renting this house, then moving back in I was pretty sure that they were thrown away, but when I moved back from Florida, the folder, paperwork and pen were intact, as neat as can be, splayed open, on the dirty floor of my room. It was until college that Ive started getting used to encouragement from a few other people, especially my boyfriend, best friend and people whove seen my art at shows, the campus or game tournaments. I have had no support or help from my family, succeeding in this would make a huge difference in my life, all I am asking is for publicity, from the bottom of my heart. This book is the first one of an 8 piece series titled Renegade Wolf. All art and characters were created by myself and everyone one of them have a background story that fits together. The novel will be half written text, half comic; so on one page it will have text, on the other it will feature panels that will illustrate the text. **I am offering, for free, either a printed or digital copy of the first chapters when they are complete. They will be in color. And maybe I will throw in a hand drawn sketch if any of you really like this. Just tell me and I will add you to a list and send you it whenever its complete.** About the plot: The story is about the descendants of a lab created species who are trying to survive and escape out of a post apocalyptic New York City, which is on lockdown after a major war. Theyre a small band of a species called Cybrids, who are being hunted, enslaved and tortured from the military as well as the fascist government who are trying to exterminate or capture them all. The main character, Monticore and his close allies Holly, Avis and Chad, try to formulate a plan to escape the city, incite another rebellion against the government, with the other cybrids, as well as try to encourage their mentally unstable clan leader, ex-soldier, Sarge, to help them survive and to have him band their species together. The plot will be full of philosophical metaphors, each character will be unique and have a purpose, but there will also be violence, swearing, betrayal and death.
