Im gonna nerd out for a moment; As a guitar player since childhood, I spent countless hours striving to improve my licks and skills ever ignorant of the truth that the most compelling music in my mind were those songs crafted in melody, harmony and delivered with a thoughtful message. It took me decades to arrive at that realization, that music although subjective to each listener is universally an emotional journey and for me cannot be traveled wholeheartedly through flash and speed. This song is one of my very favorites of all time and though elementary in its musical structure, strikes ever emotional nerve in me through its example of melody and lyric.
