Im having a moment where Im realizing how much Im both excited for and dreading The Hobbit: There and Back Again. For those of you who havent read the book and dont want spoilers I suggest you stop reading now... . . . . . . . . So Thorins descent into the gold-madness is already upsetting me...to the point that Im getting a bit teary over it. I think for the first time in my life part of me wants them to deviate from the book (well other than in HP with Snape, Sirus and Remus)...I dont want Thorin to die; or Fili and Kili. And I dont want to see Thorin driven mad because of the gold. He was the grumpy, yet stoic brave dwarf in the movies so far. I can be the first to admit that I came into the movies hating the dwarves. I had only seen the 1970s films and they were sniveling, greedy little jerks with absolutely no honor. I didnt think I was going to like Gimli in LOTR and I wasnt expecting to like them in PJs Hobbit. It came as a surprise to me, to see their honor both in LOTR and The Hobbit and I really adore them. Reading the book I see they are more like the 1970s version and Im a bit disappointed (and now the Tolkien purists are breaking down my door to kill me with fire). Anyway there was really no point to this, Im just realizing that Im not going to handle the next movie very well, sort of like the last HP movie. Fair warning to those who come with me.
