Im sitting here thinking and reminiscing about Andrae Crouch (who passed on yesterday at the age of 72) and the incredible impact his music has had on my life since I was 15 years old. It held me through some dark times when I was a youngster. I was in a band once when I was 17 called In Jesus Name. we opened for Andrae Crouch at a show here in Albuquerque. He was so gracious to all of us and complimented us on our music. He then came on stage and brought the packed house down. 10 years ago I met him again at the Dove Awards, shook his hand, and burst into a blubbering mass of tears. Ha. I couldnt say a word besides thanks. He was gracious again.
