Im thrilled to share that I have a new weekly food and dining column in the Sunday Life + Arts Section called Dayton Eats. It launched at the beginning of December. Am hoping that this can become not just a place for me to share my favorites dishes, chefs and events, but for readers and friends to get the proper shout outs for helping steer me towards their favorites. I will try to pose at least one question a week on local dining on my Facebook page that I hope you will choose to weigh in on. The only thing thats nearly as good as enjoying a great meal are the conversations you have about it afterwards! Heres a link to tomorrows column that looks at the innovative holiday cocktails that Meadowlark is creating in case you want to take a look. My question for this week: As we are heading into a slew of 2015 resolutions, what are the tastiest and healthiest dishes you have enjoyed this year and where are they being served up? Ill go first with some great healthy dishes Ive enjoyed recently - the grilled kale and beet salad at Luckys Taproom & Eatery, the North Indian chili at The Ohio Coffee Co., the roasted brussel sprouts Dayton Racquet Club, the ostrich filet at Coldwater Cafe, the Greek-style swordfish Jays Seafood and the fig and balsamic salmon Seasons Bistro and Grille.
