Im through with the NFL, and not just because of recent off the field events. My interest has been declining for several years, pretty much since Roger Goodell took over. No one knows what a legal tackle is anymore. Who wants to watch your defense make a good play to get off the field on third down only to get flagged for a personal foul? And all the commentators lecturing about guns, gays, and other non football issues. I heard an espn radio guy say the NFL has never been more exciting. I have to conclude he has to say that because its his livelihood. The game was exciting 10, 20, 30 years ago. Not now. After every play youre wondering if the defense is going to get flagged. Add in all the thugs and its a done deal. I will still follow the Steelers but my week to week passion for this sport is gone. I actually had more fun and felt more excited watching the World Cup tournament over the summer. How times have changed.
