Immigration is one of the most hotly contested issues in todays - TopicsExpress

Immigration is one of the most hotly contested issues in todays society. There are over 11 million illegal aliens who are permanent residents in the United States as of today. Many Americans feel that the presence of illegal immigrants is detrimental to society. Many immigrants are employed in the United States and some feel that they take away from jobs that other legal citizens could have. Some people also are agianst the idea of legalizing illegal aliens because they do not pay taxes to the U.S Government. While cons do exist to this issue illegal immigrants also provide many benefits to the country. Many work in jobs that are undesired by citizens, thus they provide a stable workforce. In addition to this they are often law abiding citizens who just could not fulfill citizenship requirements. Many children of illegal immigrants who were born in the United States are unable to attend college, receive drivers licenses, or get a proper job. Allowing these people to legalize would eliminate these issues. It is a very complicated issue that needs much deliberation. Feel free to post your own opinion on the issue. whitehouse.gov/issues/immigration
