Imo APC chairman, women leader resign The crisis plaging the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Imo State took another dimension as the state chairman and woman leader of the party, Prince Marshal Okeafor Anyanwu and Lady Chidimma Akasike have resigned.Prince Anyanwu made their resignations known while briefing newsmen at Owerri on Saturday. According to him, since he became the state chairman of the party, he had been using his money to run the party. Answering reporters’ questions, he said he had spent N60 million running the party secretariat, adding that he was responsible for the payment of workers’ allowances as well. He said he would move to another strong party in the state with his over 200,000 supporters. Tell me, how could the governor who spoke vehemently against imposition of candidates last month which was widely reported in the national media now turned around to institutionalise imposition in Imo State APC? In her remarks, the party women leader, Lady Akasike, said she resigned out of frustration.
