Important Action happening in Burnaby, British Columbia today: *You do not risk arrest simply by attending this event!* Kinder Morgan was granted the injunction to remove people standing up to the pipeline. It can be enforced starting 4PM Monday. (Which may, or may not happen.) [Like this page to receive updates from the ground: https://facebook/burnabymountain/ ] Were having a mass rally to stand in solidarity with those who have been and are taking a stand against the pipeline. Lets gather on the mountain in big numbers and be ready for the injunction so we can be ready to bear witness and send a clear message that injunction or not, Kinder Morgan is not welcome in our community! **You will not risk arrest simply by being on the mountain. There will be clearly marked areas where you can be to stand in support and not risk arrest if this is a priority for you.*** For those who work during the day, we will be gathered there until at least 6:30PM, and some will be staying later, or even overnight. (You are welcome to do so.) Here is a similar event: https://facebook/events/1494046207540348/ If you are keen to organize your own event to get people to the mountain, you are encouraged to do so! Please just make sure that youre familiar with the legal ins and outs of this situation, and that you take responsibility for convening people in this space by making sure that they are as well. Come to a community meeting tonight to learn more about those legal fine points: https://facebook/events/312208178967367/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This event will be held on Unceded xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) territories. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Accessibility: This event will be held outside. There is a flat road and parking lot in the area, but we cannot guarantee that those areas will remain constantly open to the public. The nearest wheelchair accessible washroom is likely SFU.
