Important message to all our YKYFTD community members regarding the shutdown of this page: Unfortunately, the inevitable is beginning to happen when an online community grows to a certain point… Some members in our online community, thinking they have an excited audience of 3,600+ waiting for their keen observations on the problems with circumstances or the powers that be in our REAL community… and how it’s not slipping past THEM… find stimulation in using this page as a platform for attack, while hiding safely behind their computer keyboard. This page was created as a local force for good, learning our local history, sharing stories, images, communicating current events, finding lost pets, giving out fire or emergency information, promoting new ideas, new events and absolutely yes, discussing our community challenges and starting a dialogue for problem solving in a constructive manner. It has recently become much uglier than that. In an age where the page creators and administrators of social media pages can be held responsible for the content “allowed” on their pages, I am not too hip to sticking my neck out for certain posters “rights” to bash one public entity or problem after another while themselves not bothering to speak directly to the public entities responsible. This page will no longer tolerate being used in this fashion. It already takes a good deal of maintenance to filter out fake profiles looking for the opportunity to spam advertisements or to troll this page. Extra time is already invested to make this an enjoyable site to visit free from online trolls and spam. This is a first and final warning. The axe will come down immediately and completely on posters in the future using this page as a platform to attack community members out to make a difference. If you want to play the role of community mover, shaker and difference maker on this page, tread carefully, be constructive, seek solutions. If you are deemed not meeting that criteria, you will be banned permanently. If filtering out the mean spirited and garbage posts becomes too high maintenance, the page will shut down entirely and it will be left to others to create their own pages & audiences to do as they please. Thank you to the thousands who have contributed in a positive manner to this page over the years.
