In Florida you can get individual dental insurance (from Humana) - TopicsExpress

In Florida you can get individual dental insurance (from Humana) for the cost of two packs of cigarettes every month (i.e., $12.99). You have no deductible, you pay only $15 per regular six-month office visit, all x-rays/cleanings are free. All pre-existing conditions are covered from the get-go. You get a nice discount on major restorative procedures, and most diagnostic evaluations are absolutely free. You have to use a network provider, but there are over fifty in my immediate area. You also have to commit to a year of coverage, which includes a $35 enrollment fee… I opt not to get the dental insurance. I have good teeth which I take assiduous care of, and I see the dentist twice a year. My annual bill is about $168. If I had insurance, my annual bill would be about $186 (not counting the enrollment fee). So it makes sense for me not to have insurance. Should I start smoking meth, or biting water-ski handles, or pretending I’m a beaver, I can always get the insurance. I’m constantly pricing plans, constantly re-evaluating my circumstances, constantly on the lookout for something that makes sense for me… It’s nice to have that freedom…
