In March 2008, Dhondup Wangchen was arrested for filming a documentary that portrayed the opinions of native Tibetans on the 2008 Beijing Olympics and on the Chinese policies within Tibet. This film is a story of what he left behind. Since her husbands arrest, Lhamo Tso has solely shouldered the responsibility of her familys livelihood. Earlier she raised the money for the family by selling Tibetan bread every morning in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala. She has vigorously campaigned for his release. As of January 2010, Dhondup is sentenced to 6 years in prison. He has received no medical aid and has not been allowed his own lawyer. Today is Dhondup Wangchens birthday and we all pay our solidarity with him and his family.
