In The Shape of a Heart: What touches your heart? We always think of the heart as the seat for our emotions. Most doctors will tell you that is just a pump for moving all the good fluids through your body, but ask a child where he or she holds their love and they will tell you. Its in their heart. Family is on the list, friends are a close second. The list of the things that touch our hearts is as varied as the people who own a heart. Do you stop and think of your list? Hearts are capable of holding an amazing amount of love. Unfortunately they sometimes harbor hate and resentment. They seem to be easily broken. Even though they seem fragile we know that they can be as strong as stone when the need arises. My physical heart has been through a few procedures as the doctors will call them. Between heart caths and open heart surgery Im considered one of those lucky ones who got to spend a few more days on this earth trying to fill that old heart with the good things that are here for us all. So, start your list. Find all of those good things that fill your heart. Maybe, just maybe, it will be so full that any hate or resentment wont have room. THAT is a good thought for any heart.
