In advance of the 11AM release of the $50 million Democrat Senate - TopicsExpress

In advance of the 11AM release of the $50 million Democrat Senate Majority #CIAReport from the Senate Intelligence Committee, I have a few things to remind everyone. The most transparent (and by transparent I mean opaque) administration in history suddenly wants to be transparent, and its when doing so will put Americans lives at risk through retaliation by terrorists. In the wake of 9/11 the undisputed consensus in America and in Congress was to make sure we never let something like that EVER happen again. All of these enhanced interrogation techniques were certified as legal by the Department of Justice and Congress. The plan was briefed to all eight members that make up House and Senate leadership. BOTH parties approved of the methods. This enhanced interrogation program WORKED. The capture of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed generated more than 2,000 intelligence reports, led to Osama bin Laden’s courier, al-Kuwaiti, and ultimately to the capture of bin Laden himself. Hell, at one point KSM even got up and mapped out their entire operation on a dry-erase board! At no point during these enhanced interrogations was anyone killed, and only three people were waterboarded. In fact, it was under the Clinton administration when this George Tenent technique began. The premise of it all is to take the captives to their own country and interrogate them under their own laws. My friends, this is nothing more than a political stunt—an attempt to falsely rewrite history by pushing a narrative on the American people that simply is not true. Prosecution on enhanced interrogation ended two years ago and no one had charges filed against them. Why? Because nothing was illegal. No one broke the law. The only thing releasing this report is going to do is put Americans in danger, cost Congress their relationship with the CIA and push away our allies. Why would our allies want to help us in the future when they’ll be put at risk? Let’s also note how this report is drastically incomplete. None of the CIA directors were interviewed by Congress, nor was Jose Rodriguez, Director of Clandestine Service at the time and head of the interrogation program. Mr. Rodriguez correctly touts that these techniques allowed us to disrupt terrorists plots and “decimate” al-Quada leadership, including Osama bin Laden, and they still produce results today. So, if you don’t think it was worth it, I encourage you to go back and watch footage of the planes plowing into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, forcing people to choose between jumping to their death or wait and be burned alive. I encourage you to ask the families of the 3,000 victims who never came home if they thought it was worth it. I’ll answer for (and with) them: HELL YES.
