In celebration of Equal Pay Day today, I was pleased to attend a White House ceremony where the President announced two fair pay executive orders that I had asked him to support. Both orders will support fair pay for federally contracted employees, which is a great step in the right direction. However, it is outrageous that even in the 21st Century New Hampshire women continue to make 77 cents to the dollar of their male counterparts, and we MUST do more to eliminate the wage gap between genders. I urge all Members of Congress to support and pass my Paycheck Fairness Act, which would give women more recourse to report and remedy wage discrimination.
